cherry pairing are perfect together for the holiday!
Rich buttery cookies are my kegemarane on any Holiday cookie tray.
Through the years we were very fond of chocolate with maraschino cherries in combination.
This year I thought lets do some with both green and red and it worked!
Of course they still flew off the plate and I always have to make a double batch!
I usually have to hide these if I make them too soon there is no way to keep them from being eaten!
I love the snowy Christmas look about these cookies, cherries are a light Christmas color and then the
powdered sugar make them look so festive on any cookie tray.
These are one of those easy cookies, no fuss and they taste great.
I like easy, especially when I am in a hurry.
I like to make a huge variety for the holiday but not all fussy cookies that make me stand for hours trying to get them done.
This is one you will love the rich buttery taste of.
You can add anything you like in the battered it's pretty basic.
I sometimes like the addition of coconut and pistachios. Or tinted green chopped almonds.
If you have picky eaters like I do, they aren't crazy about nuts so I left them out.
The red and green will make these even more festive and so easy to do. Just all the nuts to a plastic zip lock bag, add a drop of food coloring, shake and dry them over night.
Next day add to any batter! That's it! This year I used chopped green and red cherries no nuts.
